an old, but new aiming system

Duke...My post was an attempt at humor, and completely in jest. I thought the "tongue-in-cheek" comment would indicate that. I'm always interested in any kind of system, and would be happy to look at yours too! You're right! It's the satisfaction of our students learning something new, that actually helps them, that is the real payback in teaching.

Scott, I thought you ought to know that I took this product to a professional copy place and they refused to make copies because there is a copyright mark on the product. Right away some people think a person is out to make a dollar. Pool has been very good to me and I'm one of these people that don't mind giving back to the game anything that might help a player or players. I gave all of my pool students copies of this system, all they had to do was make copies of sections and then put it together. When I teach somebody, it's not for the money, it's to be proud to see someone you taught, excel at the game. As far as some of the other teachers out these, they can tell you how much satisfaction they get from seeing the improvement of their students. Money is not always the bottom line. I'm still gonna try to find someone I can get to copy this and I will send out a copy to the AZ BILLIARD members here that showed interest in learning this system, and I will even pay the postage to the member. I look forward to be able to get this done, so watch for future post from me here on AZ BILLIARDS. Thanks....Duke...

Hmmm

No worries, Patrick Johnson was contacted and notified of this possible aiming thread. He should be arriving shortly...

no offense taken, I just try to share any knowledge I have with any players out there that might be interested. I have the Business of: Dukes-Q-Stop, and started in 1986, so I've been doing this for 25 years. Like I said previously before,....I get more satisfaction in seeing someone I worked with in the past take their games to a higher level, and most all other teachers of the game will agree with me. Back in 1986 I charged $ 8.00 to put on a tip ( basic tips like Le Pro..Triangle..Triumph, etc, but not layered tip of today. I also clean the shaft with methods that don't include sanding the shaft. I remove all of the chalk..dents, etc. I then seal the shaft with a very good product ( from Mohawk )then I put a coat of clear wax and burnish that into the shaft and the shaft comes out like new. I still charge the same price of $8.00 which I charged in 1986. So as you can see, I'm not making money doing these procedures. I have never had to advertise my business, and I get all of my cue repairs by word of mouth and I never send any repair work out that isn't up to par and something I wouldn't accept. Bar room 8-Ball is big in my area, and I am always bringing repairs to work on from playing in the league. One thing more, I quote to players that simple jobs like tips..ferrules..are turned back to them in 24 hours, there always some exceptions. I treat my customers like I would like to be treated and pride myself on the work that I do. Like I said yesterday, when I find out a way to get the aiming system copied, I will send them out myself and even pay the postage. I had a customer that had purchased a cuetec cue from me, he came back to the shop to buy a new shaft 2 years later. I went one step further....I gave him a brand new shaft for free and this is why I get customers to come back to me when they need something. Then he tells this to other players and I get more business that I might never have had. I will deliver what I said about sending copies of this aiming system to those that would like a copy and I will even pay the postage to send them out to members of AZ BILLIARDS. I am hoping to get this done ASAP...Duke...

Duker,

Where is your room located?

Best,
Mike

....." I will deliver what I said about sending copies of this aiming system to those that would like a copy" ...

Thanks for your generous offer.

Something else you might consider, is to copy the instructions to a .PDF file. You could then send the material by email.

If the original is in book or pamphlet form, the spine can be cut from it by one of the copy places like Staples.
Once cut,it's easy to copy the separate pages as needed, to reproduce in any way you want.

Again, I thank you for offering this, and admire your business philosophy.
