An OLD J&J cue

A buddy of mine had this in his case last night. He bought it at least 10 years ago, maybe 15, I don't remember.

Either way, he picked it up for about $150-200.new with 2 shafts and a case.

What a beautiful cue and it hits amazing. I had zero idea J&J had been around that long. In my world they're known for their cheap jump/break combos and I was amazed to see a cue like this from them. I enjoy looking at the new fancy stuff but an old school simple cue is where it's at for me and this checks all the boxes.

P.S. It's not for sale (I asked ;)), I'm just posting it for your viewing pleasure :)

nice old cue but you can see things dont line up well or are not uniform. so its still a low line cue.

but any cue that hits well is pure gold. the rest is fluff.
 
Yes, some imports turn out to hit amazingly well! I have a 21 year old IMPERIAL cue that I bought for my younger son when he was 11- it was one that I bought at one of those Billiard and Swimming Pool Franchise chain places that were all over the country from the mid 90s - I picked through hundreds of cues in a giant bin and serttled on one that was straight and had the best shaft- still plays super well- piloted SS joint - think it was $25 back then :) :) :)

That is some really nice looking BEM in the forearm. Surprised to see nice figured BEM on a cheap cue. And, real points and inlays? I was just wondering today if J&J cues were garbage. or if the quality was ever any good.

J+J has been around twice or maybe three times as long as that. Since 1993.
