Analysis paralysis on buying a table

Gold Crown easy to find a grand or less.
Get a qualified mechanic to redo cushions and build out pockets correctly.. play ball
I think that all depends where you live. The cheapest I've found is 4000.00 and those were 12 hours away.

hah, what's with all the cheap GCs 200+mi away close to Minneapolis and not close to here, besides the one you just posted there's a GC3 in Roberts, WI, and a GC4 in Saint Paul as well.
I drove 400 miles with a buddy and we picked up a UHaul about an hour from the city I got my table. The owner knew how to take it down so we just needed to transport it back. I restored it and then had a top notch table guy put it back together with new 860 cloth. I was originally thinking like you are now. I'm not a DIY guy and ventured outside my comfort zone. I ended up better for it in addition to saving $$$. That said, I'm all in just a little over $4k (my labor not included).

I bought many under a grand....low as 500

Any gold crown 1/2 can be tuned up to play perfect. Strip them, paint them, fix pocket facings, new rubber and cloth.

I did a search and found some...saw a few cheap Diamond 7 footers too.

Like I said it depends on what country or what part of the country your in. If you can find them in California for example it doesn't mean they are as easy or cheap to find in say Alaska.

Yep. And in my case I looked for about 7 or 8 months to find something close enough to make it feasible. I was getting so pessimistic that I almost bought a furniture table just to get something to play on while still searching, but someone from AZB spotted a GC1 on FB and alerted me to it.

3 years ago before COVID, sure, my price range war $750.00 to $1000.00, I search every day and none. I search a 1250 mile radius on CL using a search engine I discovered and also on FB market place: SAME THING.
I am not complaining: I HAVE LITERALLY 17 GC3's in stock 14 matching 9's, 1 mint 9' from a home, 1 9' Piano Black in OK condition, 1 OS8' Pro from a home. None of them were bought for less than $1000. Now there is this: NONE OF THEM ARE JUNKY POOL HALL TABLES.... I would rather buy them in better condition because my clients are just as picky as I am. I dont want stapled out worm wood and torn up corners from nails.

I am celebrating 10 years in the business tomorrow!! I have a very good formula for success= buying the best and not the cheapest tables is at the core of it.

Sorry to hear the pool business in Central NY is dying. I hope it picks up.

All things are supposedly cyclical. Pool may pickup in 50 years or so.
