It boggles my mind on how this cue is still around. If I get some sales through on other cues it shall be mine!
At worst case, slightest taper roll in middle of the shafts if any.
- Silver rings are raised a bit here and there in the butt section.
Can be seen in the second picture from the left, top row. .005" at most
I think this is the reason it hasen't sold. With a taper in the shafts I would want to get two new shafts ($450 +/-). how much to have the rings taken care of????????? Now you have a $900.00 cue, $450.00 for shafts, and how much for the ring situation???? Now you have maybe $1,500.00 wrapped up in this cue.

or u can just fix the taper roll for 20 dollars. the rings is no big deal as many cues have raised rings. and if u want to fix it, im sure u can easily find someone who will just refinished the buttsleeve for 40 bucks. im not sure where u got 1500 from, the most is see its 960.

The bottom line is that this cue is priced rather well. And the fact that it hasn't sold is really more indicative of the market. Too many cues & cuemakers here in the states, too few poolplayers/consumers with the buying power people had 4-5 years ago. It's a nice deal if this is the kind of cue you are looking for to play with or try out to see if you like a Gilbert. But you're right, if you're trying to steal it, it's probably not cheap enough (but really....when is it ever ??).

I agree. The market is flooded and not enough buyers. This cue should have been sold. As a dealer I am tempted to buy it just like you probably are. If I needed a player cue in that range I would jump all over it. Problem is I have too many player cues as it is.
Dom you have a nice cue at a great price. I hope someone realizes that.

I stated approx. $1,500 total investment and you even said $1,400. I was thinking that after you spent approx. 1K you would want new shafts. Try pricing Predator Shafts fitted to your cue with matching rings and I don't think you can get this done for $150.00, IMHO.
As far as DS goes - he is just an idiot. If I were JR I would not let him represent me in any way. As a spokesman for JR he is a total failure.

Hey Dawgie, I can see where your coming from. Well heres my side. I swear that you can barely see any roll at all on these shafts. I have not rolled the second shaft in a while because I dont use it at all. The blued shaft I did roll a while back. It had the slightest of rolls there in the middle. I mean just barely. I then went around and rolled my buddies Richard Black cue. Same thing. I think that the roll is more the norm if it is just barely a roll. Rarely have I found one that is dead nuts straight. I honestly dont remember the last time. Now for the rings. I have a buddy thats ordered more that a couple of cues from Paul Mottey. When he asked for one with a steel rings in the ringwork, Paul asked him if he was sure. Paul told my friend that for the most part steel ringwork will eventually rise. Now here is a sweet looking cue that hits solid and is in really good condition. I am only trying to be as honest as possible here. I bet that if someone buys the cue; Looks at the cue, and then hits with the cue they will not be dissapointed in paying this price. Thanks for your opinion. I know that your being honest, but if you roll these shafts and then say to yourself that you need to buy new ones, then your a very, I mean very anal perfectionist. They weigh 4.37 oz. and measure 12.8mm. The wood is dense and the cue plays accordingly. Good luck with all, Dom

Hey Sean, I totally appreciate the post. I am only trying to be as honest as possible here. I dont want to lead anyone on. I would rather keep it, then have someone dissapointed in it. I personally dont see that happening, but who knows. Take care, Dom
