Dawgie, I'm at a loss for the reasoning behind this post. Maybe a little pent up frustration over DS, which I can certainly understand.
But at $150 per shaft (OK....$175 with the rings) and a $150 complete refinish and wrap, you'd still only have about $1400 in it....and you would for all intents and purposes that would be a new cue. That's right about what this cue would be new from Andy. So that leads me to think it's priced very fairly. Also, in conversing with Dom about the cue, the roll and rings sound very superficial and would most certainly not even come into play if this cue stays a player (it's not a closet queen). Sounds like he's just trying to be a super honest seller....something we desperately need more of here in AZ-land.
The bottom line is that this cue is priced rather well. And the fact that it hasn't sold is really more indicative of the market. Too many cues & cuemakers here in the states, too few poolplayers/consumers with the buying power people had 4-5 years ago. It's a nice deal if this is the kind of cue you are looking for to play with or try out to see if you like a Gilbert. But you're right, if you're trying to steal it, it's probably not cheap enough (but really....when is it ever ??).
