Anniversary cushions?

We ordered Artemis cushions but...
#1. Do they fit properly without modification?
#2 How do you tell if cushions need relaced? This table was in use for only a few years and store for many years. It looks like the original cloth on the rails? cloth was installed with nails (not staples) and no sign of other nail/staple holes?
Thanks-Jeff

No, they won't fit correctly without modifying the sub-rails first, that goes for the Brunswick Super Speeds as well. As for the cushions currently installed on the rails, feel them and see if they're hard or not.

Glen, years ago at the Illinois Billiard Club they installed Artemis cushions on their Anniversary tables. The cushions then played very slow, which was attributed their having installed the wrong "too tall" profile - they installed Artemis K66 instead of the Artemis Intercontinentals. Based on what you're saying, though, even the Intercontinentals (a K55 profile) would have been wrong. Are there any "off the shelf" cushions that would fit without modifying the subrails?

What would be your advice on what to do now? Shave down the subrails until the cushions are 1 7/16" high above the slate?

It's not just about the nose height, it's the sub-rail thickness, the sub-rail bevel the cushions are mounted to, and the sub-rail width from the finish of the rail to the point the cushion attachés to the sub-rail. And the method used in which all of the above comes together to create a calibrated sub-rail.

Yes RKC is correct.

calibrate sub-rail formula

RKC...where can a person learn more about creating a properly calibrated sub-rail...I have an anniversary D-C model that needs new cushions...I am replacing them with brunswick super speeds...Lynn

No where that I know of, it's not published anywhere, and what I know is in my brain, not on paper;)

I'd be glad to fix the rails for both of you..if you want to ship them to me.....but I'm backed up with rails right now big time.
You would be looking at 3 to 4 weeks for turn around....but it would be best to replace the sub-rails.....calibrate the rails and pocket size.

Table

Huge bump for marks work!
Change 1/32,1/16,1/8 here and there and a few degrees on the edges makes a huge difference.
If the rails don't play right after he rebuilds them, but I'm betting they will' if not i know someone that will buy them from you
