I'm gonna throw this out to our industry. This could only help break down the social stigmatism of pool in the US. The BCA or Mark Griffin :thumbup: should dedicate/declare one specific day of the year, for everyone everywhere in the US to do at the same time a Funky/Fun/Family/Friends competition. Media would love it.

Hold an event and have everyone dress up in Nice new cloths, but they must be colorful/obnoxious/Funky and Fun. Be very interesting seeing this live....laughing is such good tool to break social barriers. Next, contact your local TV station about it, I'm sure they would love to come. Make it some kind of benefit or whateve, have kids there/non smoking states. Clowns are fun to be around and we sure have our share of em in the pool room at times. Pool players would then like a clown w/o makeup, with Loud engaging Colors. TV production crews enjoy shooting allot of colorful things.
Make it maybe a race to two, keep it short and quick, not the typical Sat. then sunday am with the last sixteen, do it in a day, and do it fast. Maybe single elim. sets best two out of three, race to 1 ea. set.
