snookers, one of the nicest places in cincy is closing sept. 29th
the owners cruise this forum, but aren't actually registered
maybe they will chime in here and share the factors that doomed a once booming establishment
i have my own personal thoughts about what went wrong, but.......
i'll just bite my tongue and let them tell the story

Snookers closing

Brent, don't you think that the long period of road construction hurt their business pretty badly, maybe fatally?

i'm sure it didn't help matters
but i always managed to get there ;)

That really sucks.. Is there anywhere nice in the area left to play. I'm not interested in Michael's. It is not near the place it was when Mike Medley owned the place.

That's a bummer. I would stop by there and spend some money while in town visiting relatives up the road in Hamilton. I remember it being a really nice place in the mid 90's. I just stopped down their earlier this year and it wasn't the same place. They had a band/stage and bar tables in the front half and the regulation tables (think GC's) in the back. More of a bar atmosphere but everyone including the servers were always friendly. Glad I picked up a Kbear tshirt while there. Bummer, it was a nice place. But it did stay open a long time! Give them credit for the effort.

SnookerS was a great pool room, but I imagine when it turned to a night club with pool tables, the crowd also changed.

Too bad.. Bill and Don are great people and they ran the place great for the last 13 years (or so).

Lots of great players, people and tournaments/leagues and just a great place to call my home room.

I wonder what they will do with all my trophies on the wall?

tom, they traded those in a bartender
ask your trophy for a drink, then ask the bartender, just about the same result
you know which one i'm talking about
