Watching the Canadian Championships provoked this thread :D

From my limited exposure the the games:

Most pool tournaments have a double knockout format.

Snooker tournaments use single knockout, or round robin groups followed by single knockout of the cream.

So:
Would pool tournaments benefit from:
Longer matches?
Groups?
Single knockout?

I would love to see a 10 ball tournament used really long matches (race to 21). It would take forever though, every match would be 4-6 hours.

Im pretty sure most world championships use those systems. I think group formatting is the most common and when it gets down to a certain number it becomes single elim.

I'd like to see a return of the champion challenge matches from 100 years ago..

kinda like boxing.. if you want to be champ you have to beat the champ.. I'd love it to be race to 100 3 day affair.. like a good TAR but with a belt on the line.

Maybe Justin could create his own championship in each discipline with an $X minimum entrance fee..

just brainstorming here:thumbup:

I do remember Earl *****ing about the double elimination format for tournaments!!! You know what his take on it was???

Single Elimination race to 21!!!! That what Earl said ALL tournaments should be!!! Swear to god
