Another... "Identify this cue..." thread

Hi guys. At the risk of enduring the wrath of members that don't like these posts... just because... a lot of members are so helpful... I'm going to put this out there. Before I start, I don't have much money in the cue (less than $40). I won't argue with anyone who says it's "junk". Just wondering if in all the knowledge out there if anyone knows anything about this?

Reason's why it might be old:

1. The case I purchased it in, is absolutely a 1960's old leather case.
2. The but is thicker than most modern cues (1.3")
3. The shaft is not the more modern "Pro Taper", it is more "conical" or "Euro Taper" that all the old cues had.
4. The weight is 21.4 oz (which most older cues were heavier)
5. 57" (not 58" like most modern cues)

Reasons why it might be "newer":

1. There is no screw hole for weight bolt. Never had one.
2. Immaculate condition (would believe you if you told me it was new)
3. Stainless Steel Joint (brass insert on the shaft)

I've included a lot of pictures. I'm not looking for a "pot of gold". Just any information that you guys may have. I really respect your knowledge and am hoping to adopt that knowledge for my own. (how is anybody else going to learn if you don't teach us your knowledge?)

P.S. I haven't hit with it yet, so I can't tell you how it plays yet. It seems to be a very sold cue.

Thanks,

John

For some reason, very cheap Mali comes to mind.

What brand does it say?
Hansinburg
I can't find much on AZBilliards about that company.

Well, now I have a cue which cost me less than 50$, from China of course 😁 (brand: Hansinburg
AT https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/buying-new-cue-help-needed.144312/

The link to the 7-year old sale of the Hansinburg cue that was sold for $45 and was described as
Last one I've been able to find for sale sold for 195$, these are RARE UNIQUE and CUSTOM! This stick has absolutely no rattle, rolls even, level and straight. Everything is in great shape, no chips or bad markings. Weight is 17 or 18oz. Honestly not specified. Rare and we'll made.

I have a folder for them on my computer. It's a subfolder in my KaoKao folder with just a few example pictures. I must have placed them as KaoKao at some point, that's why the folder would be there. But I didn't preserve whatever I found to show that. Probably I just didn't think it was important enough. I have something like 16 brand folders under KaoKao.

ChopDoc... I WISH I had your database/knowledge about cues. How on earth you could have some data/info on some obscure, asian cue with no value is beyond me. You need to share your "database" of info. What happens if you get hit by a bus??? Where would all of us be for answers in the future?

Also... there should be a thread (or database) with just pictures of logos... I know people have started threads in the past, but it ends up being a discussion and not a database of logos. Then, beginners like us, wouldn't hassel you guys with all the stupid questions if there were a place to research ahead of time.

Thanks!

So, now that I know the name brand (mine didn't have a logo)... I looked up "Hansinburg" cues and I guess thee are quite a few dealers. They still make cues in the price range of $180-300 from what I can tell. (I'm not saying they are worth that, just what some dealers want for brand new ones). Probably a decent hitter (not premium). Kind of like a players or viper or low level Viking.

I have next to nothing in the stick. (actually, it came with a Pechauer that I was actually bidding on) So it doesn't matter to me. Was just curious about it. Mainly because it came in a 1960's leather case that is obviously worth more than the stick. LOL

BTW... Mine has no logo, has different bumper, has a fine red pinstripe ring on both collars but I'm convinced by everything else that it's the same maker as that "Hansinburg" cue shown above.

I would love to see the case.
I'm at work now. I'll take pictures when I get home. The case is not fancy at all but clearly old. Old leather and felt cases are easier to identify than cues for me, evidently. LOL

The case isn't worth a lot but more than this cue that's worth nothing.

Several times I have bought tomato stakes to get a good case. Several times the case was in the background, not described or featured, and it just said case included. Obviously the seller didn't know what they had.
