I did initiate this thread at the time of Champions' demise. I used to hang out there, worked there for a spell, and acquire quite a few friendships along the way.

BTW, the Post article referred to Geese as "Goose," but other than that, I enjoyed the read, too.

One thing your post showed is that they just don't make nicknames like they used to. They had some great names....
