Greetings,
What is a recommended carpenter's level to go along with my 8" Starretts? I'm asking this anew, because searching for the keyword 'level' in this forum is rather pointless (nearly every post contains that word!)
I'm trying to get my Connelly ready for realkingcobra's visit, and wanted to get the legs and bed as level as possible.
I just got home from Home Depot with an Empire, True Blue (sp?), 6' level - 'accurate to .000050" ' - really, that's what it said... Anyway, when I placed the level across the width of the bed at the head end (step one toward leveling the bed), the Starretts reads differently by as much as a complete gradation on the Starretts' vial depending on where I place it on the Empire. It appears that the Empire is crowned...
Not a very accurate straightedge.
Recommendations?
Thanks, in advance.
