Here is another mystery. This one came from Caly. Maybe someone will recognize the bumper or the work. Not sure if the joint is phenolic or ivory. Cue is a quality player, I just hit a few with it yesterday, nice solid hit, dead straight.

Played!

Played this cue again, plays nearly identical to my Olney. Couldn't lose a game with it. Looks like a LePro tip on it. Someone buy it before I put a Kamui or Moori on it and keep it. This one is a dead straight player. Wish I new who did such fine work. My first guess was Murrell or ?

Keeper!

Will keep this one for now. No closer to solving the mystery. Anymore guesses? Had some good ones, but no maker has claimed it yet.

Anymore!

I've exhausted all the leads on a possible maker of this cue. Very high quality work and great player. Any more guesses?

Looks like an early Fanelli, but his name would have been in the ring. I think the joint would have been black...

Hunter

Thought about the Hunter possibility. Pin on this cue is 3/8x10 and not 3/8x8 that Wes normally uses. Quality wise definitely in that same category, thanks for your input guys.

Odd. The joint and ring work look almost exactly like the old McDermott E series cues right down to the nearly flat top 3/8 10" pin. But the butt sleeve and bumper certainly aren't Mc D's.

I have a tulipwood Wes Hunter cue with a slightly different 3/8-10 pin, same bumper, different rings.

mystery cue

Hi check with baker custom cues out of moore oklahoma hes a cuemaker named buddy baker and a friend of mine i believe he made this cue gl:)

Have a email out to both Buddy and Wes to see if they can ID it. Wes did use the 3/8x10 pin also, I'm told. Thanks for all the help. Getting closer to solving this mystery. Wouldn't mind finding another one of these, the shaft taper is perfect to my liking. If you have a early Wes Hunter with 3/8x10 joint for sale let me know.

Hunter

Wes Hunter was nice enough to get back to me. Said he could not for sure ID it as one of his cues. The search goes on.

Mystery cue

There is no mystery about this cue.
It's a McDermott! :thumbup2:
Made in the mid/late '80s.

Check the ferrule, the joint, even the shaft wood looks absolutely like McDermott.

?

Kornele says, not his, have to say Steve is a great guy doing some amazing work. Cue still a mystery.
