That is a wild joint pin. I'd have to take a break half way through screwing that thing together! :ROFLMAO: Pretty funky looking bumper, too. Sweet looking cue overall, though. I hope somebody chimes in with a maker or at least some clues.

I've seen that bumper on cheap cues, like those Minnesota Fats "graphite" cues. Odd to see one on that cue.

Strange bumper. Strange pin. And it looks like the insert is phenolic.

Nice looking cue. No idea who might have made it

Thanks guys. Bumper is not original to the cue. I dug up an old thread and was thinking maybe Brad Zaccone or even more likely an Ernie Martinez/showcase. 🤔

Can you link the old thread here?

I thought that bumper was odd for this cue. Thanks for clarifying.

Bumpers can help ID a cue, but they can also be "any port in a storm", so it can be entirely incidental.

I am very interested in seeing this cue identified.

You might try the main forum to get more eyes on it.

Thanks for the response. I may post in the main forum.
Here are a couple old threads

Some similarities and I don't see an S on the pin of mine. This attached picture is allegedly a showcase cue which is a plain 6pt but looks very very similar with regards to pin and rings.

I think you are on track.

The bumper is a distraction. The pin and shaft insert are leads.

I would be looking for a match for the rings too. Typically a cue maker will make or even buy a dowel with the inlaid veneers and slice off the ring sections. So it isn't likely they would make only one cue with those rings.

You can get that bumper from atlas supplies. Its actually the bumper I prefer to put on my cues. A 3/8-16 pin i would guess its some home brew pin from the hardware store.

I figured that bumper was available somewhere but had not looked.

As I said, I have seen it on cheap production cues. That does not really mean anything except it is unusual to see it on what looks like a nice custom.

That pin is definitely not in the mainstream. "Home brew"? Sure, maybe so. As the poster found, there are a couple leads on makers that used that pin.
