Another new guy.....

I just want to say hello. This is my first post (finally received permission) but I have shot pool most of my life up until the past couple of years. I have never owned my own table. I grew up shooting on my dad's antique Victor and spending way too much time playing in bars, pool leagues, and tournaments. I would consider myself a pretty good shot (when I was shooting), but no where near great. My wife has always loved pool and wanted her own table.

We recently purchased our first home so we finally have room for one. We ordered our table (Olhausen Santa Anna) a couple of weeks ago and had it delivered yesterday. After shooting for a couple of hours I remembered how much I love this game. I'm really looking forward to getting back into it and shooting a few tournaments. I have no desire to get back into shooting in leagues though, I just don't have time for it. I also race bikes (bicycles) so that takes up a lot of my time.

Anyway, I look forward to being entertained and gaining a good bit of knowledge from you fine folks.

Welcome aboard! Congrat's on your new table and kudos to your wife for being on board with pool. You're a lucky man! What's the story behind your username? A play on the word "local"?

Thanks everyone.

LowCel is actually a screen name that I have had for about 16 years now. At the time I had a (try not to laugh too hard) lowered Tercel. For some reason I have just stuck with the screen name on any forum that I have joined since.

As for the table we were planning on waiting until October to get it but some things have come up and my wife really needs a stress reliever. I decided to go ahead and get it early to try to help her keep her sanity. Hopefully it works out.

Not sure if anyone is interested but here is a picture of the table.

Ok, I officially don't like you now, 'cause I'm jealous! Nice table! BTW, tmi on the tercel! ;)

Any pool enthusiast will get tons of (mostly, lol) great things from AZB, soak it all up! Some of the train wrecks here are entertaining too...

Welcome about lowcel, congrats on the table.

Those walls look mighty lonely. Are you planning on hanging up some pool art or anything like that?

Thank you. We just finished emptying out the room on Sunday. Up until that point it was still our storage room from when we moved into the house in February. Right now we are still trying to decide what we are going to do with it as far as paint goes. After that we will be getting some things for the walls.

Also, the walls are not nearly as close to the table as they appear. There is plenty of room to shoot. On the rail you don't get a real long stroke but there is enough for a half stroke or the shooter can raise their stick a little.
