Hiya fellow members. Hope everyone is doing good and keeping your opponent in thier warm chairs. I don't know if anyone has posted this, but I just went to BlockBuster to rent a few movies with my brother and I saw a pool picture on a DVD cover, it is a pool hustlin' and poker playing movie by the name of "Turn the River" search it, I'm watching it right now, I don;t know if it is illegal to post a link to watch the movie online, but I certainly am enjoying a good entertaining time. Hope you guys enjoy! Not to mention that it is a GIRL hustler :thumbup:

Yeah, Famke is pretty hot... especially in the X-Men series and Taken.

Another pool movie (sorry to kind of jack your thread) that I hadn't heard of until a few months ago is Shooting Gallery. It came out in 2005, and stars Ving Rhames, Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Roselyn Sanchez (ooh la la). I don't think it's as good as Poolhall Junkies or anywhere near as good as The Hustler or The Color of Money, but it's okay. Some people won't like it off the bat though, because it does portray pool in a negative light.
 
I liked "Shooting Gallery". It wasn't as cheesy as "Pool Hall Junkies". I have yet to see "Turn The River". Is there a place to watch it free online? lil' help!

use the one that says "version 2" it's split into 4 parts w/ pretty good quality.

I liked Shooting Gallery as well... idk I just like Poolhall Junkies more, even though it was pretty cheesy :grin:
 
I'm not very picky on movies. I expect most pool movies other then TCM and The Hustler

I just finished The Turn of River and I have to say, the ending was just horrible, and in general, I wouldn't even watch the movie again. sigh... Gotta go erase my mind with a dose of The Hustler
 
Yeah, there's been about a dozen threads already that suggested not wasting your time on this movie (you need to use the advanced search to really find anything). I wish someone would make something half decent for a change. A good pool movie could really boost the sports general appeal.
