Here's another position drill.
Ball in hand. Make the 8 and play position for the 8 again. (It will be replaced after you pocket it). The purpose of the drill is to pocket the 8 in all 6 pockets, without letting the cueball touching a rail.
You can pocket the 8 in the same pocket as many times as necessary, to get the position you need to be able to pocket it in another pocket. But it is very important NOT to hit any rails.
It looks easier than it is.
