Another refinish Question

I have a couple Custom wrapless cues that could pass for new,with the exception of minor(isolated spots-smooth to the touch) flaws under the clearcoat but don't appear to be in the wood. Is it possible to fix these areas without refinishing the whole cue? Thanks,Jim

Hello Jim:

While it is possible to do spot repairs to a finish it is preferable to start over. The reason being is that if you have lifts or chips its for a reason and there is likely an adhesion problem with the clear. If the cue is stripped down and re-sealed properly you'll have a much better base for your clear coat. By doing it this way you'll prevent future problems with the finish.

It's not cost effective but its the best way to address the issue.
