Okay, so I read another thread that asked about the object ball falling in a pocket after seemingly coming to rest. This reminded me of a situation I had encountered sometime back.
The object ball came to rest in the jowels of the pocket by my opponent. I came up to shoot and the ball was still there. I shot the cue ball nearly into the point, but it was clear that it did not make contact with the object ball. The object ball then fell in and I continued to shoot. My opponent wasn't happy. What should have happened?
What happens if the cue ball comes to rest in the pocket for longer than 5-10 seconds and then IT falls in? Does it get restored like the object ball would as described in the other thread, or is it ball-in-hand?
