have a customer that wants antler joint and butt cap,what type of antler or bone works best any info would be helpfull thanx.
 
Hi if I was to use antler I would use droped. They drop there antlers every year and grow new. droped is whiter , as shot still has blood in them and will be purplish . Seach Moscow Hide and Fur, in Moscow, Id. thet got what you need. Thanks Jim

i use a lot of elk for my joints i believe it has a better hit that ivory and is much stronger. try to find pieces that are solid.
you can buy antler sheds on e-bay.

Elk is what I like to use. Color depends on shed/shot and how deep into it you cut....but it can be altered as well. It just depends on what your customer is looking for.

I like the way it machines, the way it plays, and the way it looks!

You could buy it off ebay or maybe from some cuemakers here on AZ. I have plenty of stock for joint size, just not sure what I have for butt cap size.
