Hi gentlemen....

My wife is on the hunt for somebody to do a fairly straightforward table leg project.

All I know at this particluar second is that she's trying to get 4 cherrywood legs for our kitchenette table...and she's looking for a hepplewhite design style.

Anybody out there able to take something like this on...or steer me in the right direction?

I'd do it myself...but I have no tools, have no skills, and have no idea where I would even get the wood from. Other than that, I wouldn't have a problem!! :) ;)

If you can help me out...or know somebody that could...please shoot me a PM.

Thanks much,

Mark

What is your timeline and price range? My brother is a furniture maker, but both the time/price may be more than you're looking for...

His work is at www.michelinie.com

Here's a preview of his legwork. This was during his first year of schooling.

Damn!!! Nice work!!!

What my wife is after is infinitely less detailed than that....so I doubt he would have any kind of problem with it.

No set timeframe or price in mind. Obviously, the more bang for the buck, the better. I'm not in a huge rush (nor is my wife). We've waited more than a year so far...so waiting a bit longer is not a concern.

Should I send you some specs in a PM, and you can hit him up for an estimate of sorts??

Premade Cherry Furniture legs would be a fraction of the cost of custom ones. So do a web search and see if your wife likes what you can buy premade.

Mark,

Sorry for the lack of reply. I only occasionally wander into this part of the forum. The reason I asked about timeline is that Pete is currently hiking the Appalachian Trail and will be away for at least another 4-5 months. Chances are he will be very expensive, as well...

If your wife is looking for something simple/economical this may be like buying someone a custom Hercek when they're looking for a Players... :p
