Any D series McDermott fans out there?

Appreciate the feedback on the refinshing, actually the D-16 I have is in very good condition, if anything needs to be done would be to get the butt and joint polished or whiten. Thanks again.

I had McDermott refinish my D-17 and match an I2 shaft and it came back looking brand new. The turn around was really good too like 2-3 weeks.

I've had quite a few of them. My two favorite cues out of the series is a D-14 and a D-17.

I'd buy a d17 if I could find one in good shape with the brown stain.

My first good cue was a D-1 smokey grey stain with an irish linen wrap. I loved that cue. Loved it.

Here is an odd twist of events...a coincidence of sorts. I just found out tonight that my wife bought me a D-1 with linen wrap! LOL!

Hey JB, maybe it was yours!?

I have a feeling I won't see it until Christmas but she let the cat out of the bag already.

I regret selling the D-3 last year. Very nice example I think.

PS Chop: I miss my tube case :(

You miss it? Well, it's doing just fine holding my Huebler. If you were closer we could arrange visitation. :)

What's to miss about that beat up old thing?:grin-square:

Here's a D-17 for you. Not the later ones with the lighter green butt sleeve inlays and darker wrap, but the original darker green inlays and white/green wrap. It was an Ebay acquisition a bunch of years ago, and proof that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a good cue. The shaft is one of the best in my inventory, nice tight grain, perfectly straight, and doesn't absorb chalk dust. Enjoy!

i'd be happy with that as a player :)

Here is my D-19. Bought it new maybe in 86? Going to send it out probably to Proficient for refinish as the butt end is knicked up pretty good. The forearm is superb. I prefer the Birdseye maple - beautiful! Linen is original as well. Have had lots of mileage from this cue. :thumbup

Absolutely!

Here's my D-3.. My dad got this cue new in 1984, at 17 years old. I grew up admiring this cue, watching Dad run racks week after week in competition as well as smoking me on our home table. :p Well, he gave it to me a few weeks ago during my visit. It means so much more to me than any pool stick could and I wouldn't trade it for a rocket. I love the simple beauty it possesses.. No fancy points, no nothing. Just the prettiest red Bubinga you ever could see.
The shaft is shot and the butt could use a little bit of TLC, but I'd say it's not in too bad of shape for being 30 years old. :) Thinking about sending it in to McDermott for a refinish and a new shaft when I get the money. What do you guys think? :)
