Anybody have any experience with any cloth besides simonis on their table or where they play???

I've played on championship's tournament cloth which plays pretty good and is very durable. But I prefer simonis.

I have been playing on granito and think it plays great, championship 3030 does hold up well, but its really quick..takes more english than any other cloth ive played on as well. Using follow with inside you can come off the rail at angles that arent possible on simonis. Its kind of crazy to see it.

Granito Basalt Cloth plays like Oil and Hot Water Poured over Ice (super fast) and last up to 3 years before needing to be replaced.

Granito Angles

Ahummph!! I hope you will have the good taste not to disclose the secret of my Banana Bank on your description of the outrageous spin effects off the rail. Closely Guarded Banking Secret used to make people say Whaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!
Welcome Aboard!!

This was discussed on a TAR stream, and I took it to heart.

When given a choice in cloth, why not go with not only the best cloth known to man, but also a company that always sponsors pool. Simonis.

I've used about everything out there but I put Tour Edition on my Table.
I love playing on Simonis and Granito, and have tried out a couple of other things on the market, but for the price and durability I tend to lean towards Tour edition.
And I can make it as fast as I want without buying a different type.
But Simonis has been doing something right for about 200 years longer....lol

i've had good luck with the aramith worchestered tournament felt plays as good as simonis and lasts as long but is 40-50% cheaper in price:wink:

Here in Germany, in lots of pool clubs and bars also we play on one of those three clothes:

Simonis, Milliken and Z9 (was invented by a very good German pool player, Klaus Zobrekis).

I've already played on Simonis (which we have in our own club room) and Milliken (which is used in the 1. German Pool League). Milliken plays very good, in comparison to Simonis you get more backspin english with the same power in your stroke althought follow english will be shorter as it is on simonis.

The Z9 cloth shall be very durable. I can't verify this because I haven't played on it yet.

I have used both Simonis 860 and Gorina Granito Basalt on my table. I alternated and used each brand twice. I feel the Gorina cloth plays very similar to Simonis. In each case the Gorina cloth looked and played well for longer than Simonis ( about 1.5 times as long). I will use Gorina on my table from now on.

I own the simonis 860,, and honestly its not much better than championship tour edition cloth,, I wont be purchasing simonis again any time soon,, It really is over rated and no doubt overpriced........

Are you guys kidding me? This thread is symptomatic of the subject" What is wrong with pro pool?" There is only ONE cloth company that gives back to the game in a significant manner. Only Simonis sponsors lots of tournaments and players. Only Simonis pays for the live streams of major pro events so that you can watch them for free. Only Simonis gives cloth to tournament promoters so that regional tours do not have to be played on worn-out tables.

How anyone who cares about the health of the game could choose anything but Simonis is beyond me. Play on what the pros play. Play on Simonis. Don't just give lip service to loving the game. Prove it with your purchasing power.

I guess that explains why it costs more.

I prefer Simonis.

Years ago I played on some type of Granito that was fast and had some nap. That nap made the draw unbelievable. It was kind of wierd to play on.
