Instead of traveling around the country trying to win a few tournaments and barely cover their expenses, Pookie and all the players who play better should just make 1 trip out to California Billiard Club in Mountain View and play Bucktooth. He will be there watching their September 20th One Pocket Tournament.

The only limit to how much money you can win is how much you can carry! When you beat Bucktooth you'll see so many bales of money you'll think you're in Fort Knox.

Can you give me some info about the tournament. Is it for one day only? Whats the fee and prize money?

Here's what it says at www.californiabilliardclub.com on their 'Tournaments' page:

One-Pocket Tournament
- 3rd Saturday of the Month
- $300 Added (Based on 32 Players)
- Entry Fee $20
- Practice 11:30 AM, Starts 1:00 PM

Open 9-Ball Tournament
- 3rd Sunday of the Month
- $300 Added (Based on 32 Players)
- Entry Fee $20
- Practice 11:30 AM, Starts 1:00 PM

It's a nice room, in my opinion, and there is usually a good turnout there. Well worth checking out even if you don't play in the tournament(s).

Hi Rodney,

I stopped by California Billiards in January during a short West Coast business swing. I was awed by the row of tight pocket tables when I walked in. I asked to play on one of them. The manager on duty said yes but, only if he could watch me play a rack or two to see if I was "good" enough. I thought he was kidding! Anyway, the room was clean, bright and very well laid out. I also liked Felts up in San Ramon. The owners were very hospitable during my stay in the area.

Gee Cardiac, I have played at California Billiards half a dozen times and have never been questioned about my skill level before playing on any table I wanted. Maybe they were getting ready for a big tournament and just didn't want the tables to get marked up prior to the tournament?

I hear Bucktooth recovering from pneumonia and not at full 100% strength but he still go out to gamble...... why????? Is he stupid or just like to give away free money????
