I'm sure this post belongs in the cue gallery forum, but what they heck. More folks will probably see it more quickly anyway.

This is not for sale; however, I thought it might be interesting to see who can tell me what it is. I'm going to be out of commission tomorrow but will check back tomorrow night to see if anyone has guessed it right. Haven't decided what the winner gets....let's just say "yet to be determined". But it will probably be something of value.

OK, what do you think this cue is/was ??

Yes, but the 'was' part is where it gets interesting....

Well, it looks like an Andy Gilbert titleist conversion to me by the veneers, but is the wood purpleheart? it has a purple tint to it.

well I'll go gilbert as well...

The was part...first thought was james white...but who in the name of all that is holy would do such a thing as modify a james white. So beats me.

it might be some sort of conversion, but not a titlist. the forearm has way too much birds-eye and the veneer colors don't quite look right. that said, i'm not really sure what is is/was.

It's George? Butt cap looks different, but the joint looks like George to me, and the inlays look Schickish. I dunno, just a guess.

gotta be a cue made by someone and inlayed/converted by someone else. andy gilbert is involved somehow indictaed by post #3. maybe spain blank converted by andy gilbert

i know jerry rauenzahn blank inlayed by barry szamboti...lol...jk

Sean,
I'm gonna reach a little...very rare 4 point Southwest"
" how about posting pics of your avatar..."can't see enough of Szamboti cues,
thanks
Duane

points look a little short to be DAVIS or SPAIN

Gonna guess Bill McD converted/enhanced by AG

Mr. Dave,

That was funny. I'm still smiling and chuckling.

The WAS part is an old purpleheart Brunswick cue with the flat sided butt. Look at how the light reflects on the butt sleeve, it has one side flattened like the 1910-1915 style cues.

I'm thinking Bill Shick conversion cue of an old turn of the century model Brunswick.

post 3 says andy gilbert

Does the butt sleeve look flat to you?? It almost looks like a forearm added together under the leather wrap to an older style butt which would allow for different veneer colors.
