points look a little short to be DAVIS or SPAIN

Gonna guess Bill McD converted/enhanced by AG

I would go McDanials too! Seems they have a few in the private collection there that they will more than likely never part with!
Nice cue!
Nick:)

The visual says Joel Hercek to me.

edit....maybe/was Palmer blank?

okay, here's a stretch. barry's daughter made a plain cue for a high school project, but i think that was ebony??

Its obviously an Andy Gilbert resto. The oversized hoppe ring and inlays give it away. But I'm not seeing it as a titlist because A) the veneers are wrong and B) the forearm is birdseye maple.

I guess if I were to say anything, I would guess along the lines of what Dave Wilson said:

Andy Gilbert cue built from an old Palmer blank.

I'm sure this post belongs in the cue gallery forum, but what they heck. More folks will probably see it more quickly anyway.

This is not for sale; however, I thought it might be interesting to see who can tell me what it is. I'm going to be out of commission tomorrow but will check back tomorrow night to see if anyone has guessed it right. Haven't decided what the winner gets....let's just say "yet to be determined". But it will probably be something of value.

OK, what do you think this cue is/was ??

ANDY GILBERT BUILT WITH A JOHN DAVIS BLANK.

That can't be a Hercek, as Joel will not use silver in his cues due to the way it moves.

My guess is going to be way off the wall, but here it goes...

Skip Weston Blank, Andy Gilbert inlays.

Meant to get back to this thread last night but my anesthesia had me in a fog the whole day yesterday.

The answer is interesting. This is an early Hercek prong blank, originally built by Tunder (Dan Tull and Mike Kinder out of Olathe), and then re-worked by Andy Gilbert (inlays, wrap, butt, shafts, etc.) Andy did a spectacular job and, although it doesn't show up well, all the ivory dots are encased in silver. This cue was originally suspected to be a Spain blank, but when we emailed Joel and we got a bit of a surprise....

So "dave sutton", I guess you were sort of the winner.
