Any help for a waterlogged cue?

A guy I work with said he has a Parker? cue from 1979 that was in a flood. He said it's walnut with ebony and ivory inlays and you can see the wood splitting and separating from the ivory...

That's pretty much a lost cause, don't you think?

wonder if his homeowners would cover it?
 
Im not a cue repair guy so i dont know, but i would assume its a lost cause.

But dont throw it away, I would assume the ivory would still be good so i would keep it just incase, to either sell it at some (though small) profit to a cue maker or to use on the replacement i would get done
 
I had spoken with Evan Clark of Schon about a restoration job earlier in the year and he said that he had done some refurbishing of flood victims' cues from LA and one that was rescued from the bottom of a pool so you never know...
