greatest american poolplayer ever... that's your opinion. greatness is multifaceted, it isn't determined solely on how many titles you have.

50 years from now, on paper, Earl will be considered the greatest player ever......essentially he's our (pool world) Jack Nicklaus --> most major tournament wins.

And thats why if you asked all the pro's who is the greatest player to ever live .............80% would say EFREN.
And EARL DOESN'T have 1% the class JACK has.So not a good comparison.

For f$#& sake, let the man and his personal s#@$ be. He's a great player. If you don't think so, play him a set or two for five thousand. Sure he has outbursts... but he's allowed to. Humans do all we are allowed to. I'm not a fan, I just know that if he wasn't so talented, you Earl bashers wouldn't give two s@#$% about his behavior. I enjoyed McEnroe, too. Are you sure that some of you bashers aren't infatuated with the mighty Earl? You know, he gives you that warm fuzzy feeling. If that's not true, then let him get on with his existence. Until you can beat the man, you can't be the man, so why not bash the man, huh?

* 5 US Opens
* 6 World Titles
* Numerous other titles

Efren has 1 US Open title and zero World Titles (I think).

Actually Efren had 1 World Title and numerous other titles such as IPT, DErby Classic...However, if you want to see the real Efren, you need to watch him playing the gamble match.
In my opinion the reason Earl and Archer dominated WPC in the 1980s and 1990s is because there were very few Asian players joined the tournament during that time.
