Any ideas for using a laser pointer for aiming practice?

I had plans, to make some Tools with a laser- as Trainings aids. but wasn t able to find a single laser which wouldn t be dangerous for the eyes.

I retracted what I wrote because I misunderstood the application when I wrote it.

I invented a penis laser pointer for my trips to the restroom in the middle of the night.

Patent pending, so don't even think about stealing my idea.

^^^ sorry, beat you to it, just patented my invention, the laser pointer for the toilet :thumbup::thumbup:

An interesting idea would be to use a pointer laser with a cheap holographic transmission diffraction grating to show where the cue ball will travel after hitting the object ball. The grating would be placed at the ghost ball center and perpendicular to the aiming line.

This would take some time to setup (making it much harder than the other methods, like the "peace sign" method described by Dr. Dave here
https://billiards.colostate.edu/FAQ/30-90-rules/peace-sign/), but would give a good visual on the rail where the cue ball will travel to.

For example, the zero order would be the aiming line and would show the contact point on the object ball, the first order line of a green 532nm laser using a 1 micrometer transmission grating would be a very close approximation (32 degrees) for the line corresponding to a rolling cue ball deflection from object ball at slightly less than a 1/2 ball hit.

To get sophisticated, using different diffraction gratings and laser colors (red, green, blue) you could cover the spectrum of cue/object ball deflection angles for speeds and follow, stun and draw.

My homemade laser trainer (see earlier post) shuts the laser off as soon as you pick it up off the table.

It is done with an internal "limit switch" in the laser power circuit and a sensing "foot" that rests on the table.

I'm not sure that it is really necessary since it is a low power laser (1 to 5 mW) but I designed it like that just in case someone might object to the beam.

Are laser pointers available in your country? Wouldn't they work for your project?
