I have a chance to trade for a Mark Moore cue and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these cues? I personally have never heard of him or his work before so any info would be appreciated. My main concern is if he does quality work and if his cues have any resale value? Thanks in advance.

Also I wanted to mention that the cue I am looking at has a 5/16x18 pin, it seems odd to me that a custom cuemaker would use this pin as most cues I have seen with this pin are cheaply made, but maybe i am just uneducated about this.

You should be able to see the quality of the workmanship if you have a chance to trade for one. Mark's cues never commanded the very high prices of the top cue makers but his cues did play well. I played with one for years and had no complaints. Resale is determined a lot by the condition of the cue. Mark is currently not making any cues. Katrina took out his shop in Gulfport, MS.

Mark is a friend of mine.

Yeah, he made cues in Gulfport, MS before Katrina. Katrina left nothing but his foundation and the machines which were bolted to the floor of his garage. I've seen the machines and they are in some kind of sad shape. I seriously doubt he will ever make cues again. His machines are ruined and he really has no interest in it any longer.

As others have said, his cues never pulled top prices. They are fairly rare though. Even though I know him, I haven't see more than 10 or 15 of them ever. The ones I have hit balls with played nice.

As for the pin, that's just Mark. He is an independent soul and does whatever his heart desires. That's probably what it was calling for at that moment.
