Does anyone have maint. arbors for the radial style pins in josswest cues? Or, a tap so I can make my own. I have several come thru the poolhall where I do repairs. If not I will measure and turn on myself. Just hoping I can buy one.

Hi Chris,

The JossWest Radial is the same as the Uni-Loc Radial so Atlas would have your tap.
I've made a couple of drive-pins from copied aluminum Radial pins that I've removed from cues. These would be for shafts.
I have several and could sell you one. PM if interested.

PS. I can also drill/tap some 3/4" phen. rod for you if you need to spin the handle.

Hey KJ. These aren't the same as the radial. They are finer thread pitch and have a short bullet nose. They are older cues so I am not sure if Bill tried something diffrent back then or what. I tried my maintenance arbor and sanding arbors and none fit these pins.

Chris,

Thanx for the info. You learn something new everyday.
This kind of surprises me though because it's my understanding that Mr. Stroud collaborated with Uni-Loc to develop the Radial pin.
I know Bill has used several different styles of pins and not all of them common.

The guy had his cue at the poolhall last night. I looked at it again and I think the pin was changed at some point. The shafts were both plugged and there were 8tpi on the pin. The second cue I was having issues with I found the shafts would fit my maint. arbor but the butt would not fit. I have some from unilock as well as ones I made using the unilock tap. I screwed a new pin into the shafts and it was loose. I guess it was just a tolerence issue on that cue.

I think it got Schmelkeized.
9MM is not quite 3/8.
