Any nice places to play in New Albany Clarksville Jeffersonville near Louisville KY?

I am thinking about relocating to the Louisville KY area, but I am wanting to find a place across the river on the Indiana side.

I am just wondering if any of you know if there are any nice places (with good tables) to shoot at in New Albany, Clarksville, or Jeffersonville Indiana?

If not, then what is the nicest (and in a safe part of town) place to shoot at in Louisville?

I have never been to Louisville, so I do not know what parts of the city to avoid (if any of the pool halls are in a bad part of the city).

Hopefully there are some nice places to shoot at on the Indiana side, but I am assuming there are no pool halls in the 3 small cities that I mentioned.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Diamonds in St. Matthews, Diamonds on Barrett Ave., Billiards Club on Bardstown Rd. All three are decent neighborhoods and usually pretty good class of people.

The only place you need to know about is the Bank shot in Louisville, KY. Greg Sullivan, owner of Diamond plays there quite often.

I think you mean Jack's. It is right off of Grant Line Rd. I've played there a few times when visiting friend's in New Albany. There is a great pizza restaurant across the parking lot called Rich O's.

I have played at Bank Shot a bunch of times when I used to travel to Louisville for work. I have always liked that room.

It's called Jack's an it's a full bar not many money players. Best place is bank shot in louisville Ky rite over river and only min or 2 off exit easy to find an quick to get get back on interstate. 10 9ft tables up stairs an 4 down stairs an one 10 ft also. Most time of day you can find a game mostly one pocket

Bankshot is the ONLY pure pool room left in the Louisville Metro area. Great tables and folks.

Thanks for all of the info. Have any of you been to this place?

One of the reviewers noted that it has a bunch of tables. So any 9 ball weekly tournaments at any of the places you all suggested? Thanks.

Lol, I have not busted anyone in Evansville. I do wish that I would have seen some strong players in the year that I have been here in Evansville. I did not make it over to the pool rooms on the west side of town too often. I just been going to O'brians on the east side, and there just seems to be weekly league players that hang out there. I have not seen any really strong players, or many action games going on (other then a couple of good Bank players). Maybe all of the strong players hang out at the Corner Pocket on the west side.

Yeah, there are a couple of pretty strong bank players that play at O'brians. The only game I really like is 9 ball (or 10 ball). I am not too good at anything else, but I do enjoy playing 1 pocket.

Several places around have APA leagues different nights of the week. I play at Bank Shot Sunday nights on their 9 footers. On Monday I play in Jacks 3 man in house league on 8 foot Diamonds. Its a cash payout league and done relatively early in the evening.

You can find a small tournament going on around Louisville almost every night of the week but be warned, there are some strong players lurking in the shadows.

Hall of famer Truman Hogue puts on a handicapped bank 9 ball tournament a few times a year at Bank Shot. Some strong players. I think he is getting ready to do another very soon for the locals as a tune up for the Derby City Classic coming up.

Good luck in your ventures.

I"ve rebuilt one of the Diamond's there, the one in front of the bank vault door, new Artemis cushions, ProCut pockets...the whole works. Later on next year when I'm back at the factory, I guess I'm going to do another 2 or 3 tables over by the check out counter the same way. I've been to all the pool rooms in the area and the Bank Shot is the only real pool room in the whole area, which is why there's several world beaters hanging out there at different times.

That's the one we play one pocket on. It plays good.
