Any "nonstandard" cases?

I've been carting around an old hard "box" case with my shoot stick (which appears to be a '70s Adam, thanks guys!) and a cheap soft case with my Fats Hustler break stick. I've been looking at various 2X2 cases, mainly tube, and while there are many out there that look really sharp, and some amazing leather tooling, it's all pretty much the same style. Oval or square tube, couple of pockets. And while I don't have the money for a high-end custom built case just yet, I was wondering if anyone had any "outside the box" (no pun intended) cases. I saw one a while back that was a converted fly fishing rod case, even a rocket launcher tube (not sure I want to be carrying that around in these times).

Agree on Phil Eastwood. Very unique.

There are some very nice envelope cases by Rusty, Matcase, King. JBcases has envelopes too plus his Mason and Butterfly line. GTF and Whitten are also a little different from the typical tube style.

Not so easy to find a unique quality case that is also inexpensive. The Sterling Fancy line remind me of the Whitten cases. I believe Sterling had them made with vinyl to keep the price down.

Sounds like you want cheap-ish.

Consider a hard side tactical shotgun case. Durable, the right length, and you can put several cues and shafts as well as your accessories in it.

The ones of molded plastic are cheap and durable. They will have the "egg crate" type foam inside and so are very versatile.

Wow, those Eastwood cases are insane. Incredible imagination in those.

Well, cheap is relative. I can't afford a custom tooled multi-panel, etc. case, but I mainly wanted to see various ideas. The tube cases are popular for a reason, they're the most versatile and easy to use in a crowded environment. My crap cases end up on a table in the back because soft and box cases just aren't easy to access.

But I have been toying with different ideas, possibly even making my own. The shotgun case would definitely protect, but then I still have the problem of convenience. I'll check out some of the other case makers mentioned. I like seeing what's out there in the realm of odd and unique, plus I've already seen people walk out of the bar with someone else's sticks just because they had the exact same 2X2 case. Luckily they were friends and straightened it out, could have ended badly. One had a Perry and a Meucci in it.....

We are working on 2 hardcase Retrofit 2x4 with accessory compartments-if your interested. Basically its a Chinese case we are adding a Phil Eastwood tooled overlay to and upgrading the harware. Send us a PM with the theme you'd like to see and we'll see if we can hook it up.
The finished product should be very affordable.
