I second Ken4Fun. Come up to terre haute and you will get some action. If i'm there i will try you some, although I usually choke for money, i prefer to have something on it to play harder. As far as it goes, anybody in the state that comes there will get some action.
I'll be there in about 2 or 3 hours. I didn't realize anyone gambled on pool anymore, except a couple of guys in Indy.
Sorry, I'm just kidding. I may get over that way sometime though. As for DCP, you guys should take it easy on him. He's just trying to protect his livelihood, and he really does like pool.

You're too tough for me! But if you come around I'll definitely match up some how. I've been learning how to play one pocket so maybe you can give me a lesson or two or three!;)

If you ever come to Evansville and want to match up high or low, let me know. I can find you a game.

ahhhh, very true words there Satman.

look, if a guy has to drive to evansville, owensboro, terre haute, wherever, pay for gas, buy some food, and possibly lose anywhere from $50 to $300 then that is a big chunk of change to alot of people!

like the man says, thats your livelihood here..........

when u post on here that u are looking for a game everyone is gonna assume that u are wanting to gamble, if u do not want to play for money just say so and it'll save u and a lot of others on here a lot of wasted time, most of your better players won't bother playing with u unless there's something in it for them, if u live out in bfe it is selfish/naive of u to expect them to come to u when there's nothing in it for them other than playing u

u buy a new $300 - $500 cue every other month and you'll drive to owensboro just to get your tips changed but u won't drive that far or spend a few bucks on gas just to find a game of pool? have u ever played league? have u ever played in a pool tourney? if u do not like to gamble these are really your only 2 options to compete @ pool, u just don't seem to want to find games

are u interested in playing tournies or league? do u only play 9 ball? if all u ever play is 9 ball u will have a tough time finding games unless u like to gamble, if u are less vague about what u are seeking i'm sure u can find someone/somewhere to play

Send me a pm DCP, and we'll see if we can arrange a game sometime. I enjoy playing just for fun.

Well, if your main motive is profit, then quit pool.

If your main motive is to play good players and improve, then stop whining, spend the money, and go play them.

From Fort Lewis, Washington, I used to travel anywhere up to 1 1/2 hours away on a week night in order to find good players to play in tournaments, and anywhere up to 4 hours away on the weekends for weekend tournaments.

You ARE a very whiny player, and I'm afraid that unless you curb that tendency, you'll never improve very much. Sorry.

But if I get into that area, I'll play some. One Pocket, Banks, 8-ball, 9-ball. Don't matter much. I'll play cheap sets or just mess around if I'm waiting on a tournament match. I like to play too much I guess. I love ring games, it used to be my favorite and I guess still is when it comes to gambling. But if someone asks, I may play just about anything. Let me know if there's any tournaments around the area, I'm looking for some to go to. Sam:)

Where do you Lafayette area guys play? I live in NW Indiana, but unfortunately have to come down to Purdue every couple of weeks to bring my aging Great Dane to the Purdue Vet School Animal Hospital. I usually have a couple hours to kill when I'm in town. If I'm not looking for action, but just to pass some time on some nice tables, where would you guys recommend?

if u like playing on antiquated useless bar tables @ a $1 a pop then there's probably 30-40 places to play, if u like playin on better equipment purdue has 12 9 footers in the basement of their union and big al's is just across the river on union street, the union is a good place to go to get some practice weds is $2 pool night, i'm over there on most weds as is eales, if u are looking for action big al's is a better choice, they have 3 steepleton 7 footers, steev is usually there looking for some action, this time of year there's no tournies i know of

Not sure where exactly where in SW Indiana you are but, we have some great places to play around here. In fact we are having a Gateway Amateur Tour GSE (Geographically Seperated Event) at Shooter's Billiards in Centralia, Illinois next Saturday (June 30th). Here is a map... http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTE... IL&trf=0&lon=-87.789001&lat=38.591114&mag=10 From what the players are telling us, we're expecting 50+ players of all levels. If interested, email me at michael@zimsrack.com and I'll email you the flyer for this event. I will be the T.D. and doing cue repair on site!
Good luck!

Is the Wabash Cigar Store still open? I also used to play up at Sportsmans (2nd story) pool hall at 4th and Wabash . . . road boys would come in there when I was young and learning to shoot . . .
