Ok ok. Just kidding.

But I have never been to the Philippines and need to get my bearings straighten out.

I will be at Philippines for a week or so for a business trip. Makati city and Laguna city. Can anyone give me some opinion on this 2 places? Are they in Manila? Any chance of shooting a few rounds over there?

Point me in the right direction and will be more grateful.

When are you headed to the Pi sir, I will be bouncing around the islands a lot the last two weeks of Dec and into Jan...

I'll see if I can talk to the wife and help you out.. She is in Quezon city north of manilla

Hey thanks a bunch!

Any information will be good. I would love to know where those pros hide out and maybe get a closer look at them in action.

Makati city is the central business district in Metro Manila. Most big companies have their main offices there. Makati CInema Square in Makati has a lot of tables, if you want to go to the main action go to Manila. Makati is very near Manila city, you got PPT or former rack and roll, oneside and fusion there. Are you bringing your cue here?

The AMF-Puyat Superbowl at the Makati Cinema Square,
Pasong Tamo St, Makati City has 20 tables, buddy.
I play here almost everyday (or at least I try to :) )

There is also the Hobbies of Asia pool hall,
where a club I belong to holds Friday tournaments.
1st places gets a trophy and a little cash prize.

There is also a billiards bar in Makati callled
Rack Em Up - has 5 Kangaroo tables and 2 Metro (look-alike)
tables. Nice atmomsphere and sounds, too.

In Sucat, there's a new billiards bar that has just
opened called Winners' Brackets. One of its owners
is the Philippines' #1 female player - Rubilen Amit.

Will be glad to shoot pool with you and introduce
you to the guys at all clubs! And I kid you not!

:)

We can go watch some matches at Players Den or play some at SSB (5miles NE of the Makati Central Business District). I'll pm you my number if you want to do that.

Laguna is already a province approx 10kms away from Makati City which is part of Metro Manila. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the pool halls there.

There are lots of pool halls near Makati City but not necessarily within it. Some of them have been mentioned by Anitokid. Btw, Rack Em Up is right behind MAKRO grocery which is along South Super Highway if I'm not mistaken

1. Near Makati, there is also a bowling and billiard center inside the SM MALL OF ASIA (MOA) in Pasay City which is about a kilometer or two away from HOBBIES. It's quite easy to go to MOA as it is at the end of EDSA. Everybody knows MOA so just tell the taxi driver to take you to Mall of Asia.

2. HOBBIESis the name of the mall along Macapagal Avenue, the street before you reach MOA. There is a pool hall inside it

If you plan to take the MRT from Makati, the following are either adjacent to the MRT stations or a few meters away from them. It is also to go to these centers as they are just along the national road EDSA:

3. CORONADO LANES, 4/F Star Mall, Mandaluyong City. Go down at Shaw Blvd station

4. PAENG'S SKYBOWL, 4/F Robinsons Galleria Mall, Quezon City. Go down at Ortigas station then either go for a 5-minute walk towards the mall or take a short bus ride towards it

5. PUYAT SPORTS, 4/F (I think) Farmers Plaza, Araneta Center, Quezon City. Go down at Araneta Center Station

There are also many pool halls in the City of Manila which is a few minutes away from Makati if traffic is not that bad  :

6. BOWLING INN, along Taft Avenue

7. PAENG'S MIDTOWN BOWL, 2nd or 3rd floor, Robinsons Place Mall , Ermita

8. PPT (not sure of exact address)
9. ONE SIDE (not sure of exact address)
10. FUSION (not sure of exact address)
11. LA CAFE (not sure of exact address)

Nos. 3-7 are run by Puyat Sports (the managers of Efren, Busta, etc). All their tables have Italian slates, Simonis Cloths, and either regular Aramith or the TV balls. I don't think there are any other pool halls other than the Puyat Sports Group (AMF-PUYAT, PUYAT SPORTS, & PAENG's) that have genuine Simonis cloths since they import their own Simonis cloths directly from Simonis Belgium

Filipinos are very hospitable..try to pm bandido he will surely show you the pool scene in manila.:)

The 2 places where the top players are matching up every night is in Mabini Street in Malate, Manila.

Here you will find One Side, and PPT, former Rack N' Roll. Fusion has closed. Tell the taxi to stop outside the casino at Hyatt Hotel, then you are 1 minute walking distance to One Side and 1 minute to PPT.

If you want to watch the best players in the world, or perhaps even try to win some money of them, you need to visit these places.

Thanks Guys.

You people are a great help!

I have heard of Philippines people legendary hospitality. But i really do not want to impose on anyone. I will bump my way around.

Sounds like Hyatt would be a very convenient place to stay then.

in my trip which includes QC Invasion team match I will be together with two or three pool players of B level. Which of the above mentioned by linds halls they would find an opponent of similar level? Rack'n'Roll used to be such a place during one of my previous visits.
I mean an opponent to play without a spot and the game being interesting for both sides not turning into massacre ;) Stakes 500-1000 PHP I suppose
