Heading out to Germany tomorrow for two weeks. Going to be in Berlin till Wed, then Koln till Saturday, then Black Forest area for a few days, and then on to Munchen for the last leg of the trip with a quick train ride to Salzburg.

If anyone wants to shoot some pool. Not looking for action, but will play cheap to make it fun if you prefer. Or at least tell me the nicer places to play in those towns :)

If there are any areas to avoid, a heads up would be appreciated.

I dont really know the "places to go" in the cities you named, I live and play about 100 km from Köln.
A great place, not too far from Köln (ca. 30 km), is Billard Center Hangelaar

Earl was there last year and Efren will be this year in august :shocked::clapping:
The guys there usually play some 20€ sets or something like that..
I'm taking lessons there from a german pro-player every once in a while!

If you want to find someone to shoot with real badly, maybe you could / should post on Billard-Aktuell, Germanys AZ ;) Not that much traffic though :angry:

PM Fatboy...he's a regular visitor, it seems...and he's been in action there.

And don't ask for any 'nein'-ball action...they'll be totally confused.

I don't know about any nice places in Cologne, but Hangelar is pretty close. Nice Pool Hall with one of the most prestigious tournaments in Germany. Efren and Varner are coming in August but you will just miss them. It's next to Bonn and about a 25 min drive.

In the other cities I would do a quick research which of the pool halls have pool clubs playing there. This will dramatically increase competition.
Btw there are no areas to watch out for in Germany.

My old stomping grounds! Have fun and enjoy they scenery! Anywhere between Heidelberg,Karlsruhe,Pforzheim,and Stuttgart? There are a bunch of clubs and some top notch players! Don't play anyone Straight Pool for Money!! Remember Zocken means Hustling!

Not related to pool - but if you are interested in amusement/theme parks, in the Black Forest area (near Freiburg) there is the best amusement park I've ever seen: Europa Park (europapark.de). There are some absolute amazing rides there, plus the food is extraordinary...
 
In Cologne, Billard Cafe Crazy Ball ist a must. Triererstrasse 10 Koln Neustadt (Neustadt ist the part of town,
there is another Triererstrasse somewhere else in Cologne.

You will find 8 nicely maintained 9-foot tables there and, if you ask around plenty
of players who will play you. The owners Jörg and Mary speak perfect english too.

There is also the Cologne Cue Club, a much bigger place, also nice but without the cosy
homeroom feeling of the Crazy Ball, CCC is on the Barbarastrasse.

Hey,if u Hit cologne,please let me know. Met there with Fatboy ,had alot of Fun. Iman arrange something if u like,playing just for Fun or for a Little Action.
