Not that I know of,but I have not tip shopped in2 yrs And I dont think it gets any better than a triangle,I dont like the idea of shooting on glue, but thats just MY opinion good luck

Triangle is kind of unique

is there any other tip that feel like triangle?

hi there,

i used to use le pro.when i started playing alot again in jan 2009 i had an old box of le pros. I used them all in about a year putting them on for friends and for myself.

When i bought some more i noticed they were not quite the same as the old ones. Then i had a few cue repair guys tell me that the new le pros are a little different than the old ones.

Then i was at a few pro tournaments and a noticed a few of the pro player were getting the triangle tip put on. This i thought was kind of strange because they were actually sponsored by other tip companies. But bottom line is when your trying to play the best you can you want the tip that works the best for you.

Need i say more........

So i tried the triangle tip. I noticed that it responded very well but not extreme like some of the layer tips i had tried.
Then i had one put on with a guy that used a lathe to cut it down and that tip played terrible.since then i had one more tip put on by a guy on the lathe.it played pretty good for a day or 2 but the sides kept fraying. WITHIN A WEEK IT WAS JUNK AND COST ME THE TOURNAMENT THE NEXT WEEKEND. IT ONLY TAKES ONE OR 2 MISS HIT SHOTS.

The lepro and the triangle are both grain leather tips. When you cut them down on a lathe it kind of squishes the grain a little therefor breaking down the stability of the leather. Once this happens the tip breaks down very fast. The way it changes effects the way you play too because you might start not getting the english you want on different shots.

When i do them by hand i sand them down slowly on the sides and the grain stays in tact.

When they are put on like this there is no tip on the market that plays like the triangle. They are very consistent and you can depend on what you want it to do.

To me that is what counts. And obviously it is the same for some of the pros out there also.

Triangle to me is the best grain tip on the market and there is not even a close second on the market.

Triangle doesn't sponsor me so this is an unbiased opinion.

I just use what gets it done the best.

I only quit using Triangles because of their inconsistency of late. I've tried Everest, Moori, Talisman, and Kamui Black layered tips. While they're all good performing tips, to me the Kamui Black medium feels very much like a good Triangle.

I use a water buffalo. It is a bit harder than a triangle but once it is "shaped in" and "played in" some it will hold it's shape without any mushrooming issues and works real well.

The Sumo, the bottom 1/2 of a Dudley (milk dud from Muellers) and the Triangle are quite similar IMO.
