Any tricks to get this shaft straight again?

Does the center of the shaft go up and down or is the same amount of air under it all the time as rolled. If the same amount of air or close is there the shaft is great and straight. If the center of the shaft comes up then down to the table it is worped. A lot of shafts have air under them all the way around and are straight. If crooked check with someone who straightens arrows for archery. It can be straightened but may go back.

If I'm reading what you wrote correctly, this does not indicate a warp at all. If the gap changes when you roll it, then that would be a warp. What we are seeing in the pics is a pro taper. There is alway a gap in a pro taper (or it is indeed warped).

By the way, that's a nice little room for a table you have there, but change the cloth man ~

My thoughts exactly, Chris!

Let me try to make it clear, when its rolled the gap between the shaft and table goes up and down. Its bowed, but as stated before the top and bottom of the shaft stay on the table.

If the gap changes by a small amount, say less than 1/8th inch, like 2mm or so, then it shouldn't affect play. Any more than that and it will. The two photos on close examination make it look like a whopping difference!

Probably the best thing is to keep an eye out for a replacement shaft but you can try this. It sometimes helps and almost always make the shaft straighter. Take a damp cloth and a household iron. Protect the shaft with the damp cloth and iron the high side of the shaft until it rolls straight. Do this a couple of times, each time letting it fully cool. You've got to get the shaft pretty warm and keep the sloth damp, so take your time. Any raise in the grain can be sanded out once the shaft is fully dry with 600 grit dry followed by 1000 grit dry and burnishing.
