Any tricks to speed up a table?

I have a 9-foot Gold Crown III with Simonis (760 or 860, not sure which) on it. The cloth is fairly old now but is still in fairly good shape with no holes and not a whole lot of wear. Problem is the table is slow, way slower then I want. I play at a pool hall where the tables are dufferin's and they play alot faster. I clean the cloth a little less then I should most likely. I use a dust buster to vacume the loose chalk and then rub the Simonis down with a damp cloth to clean it, I get a fair bit of the chalk out of the cloth this way and it gets fairly clean and looks good. Yet still the table plays slow even after cleaning it. The cloth still looks decent and does not seem to have any fuzz or anything that would slow it down.

Anyone know of any tricks I can do to speed the table up considerably? Any product that would help? A gold crown with Simonis cloth and Super Aramith pro balls should play better then this thing is at present.
 
I have the same problem... the only way is to have the cloth re-stretched... from an installer.

...or change to a new cloth... like Tournament 30/30... and your table will be really fast.

wiping with a damp cloth will make the cloth expand....thus making it slow....if you have spotlights try it to heat the cloth up...wont cost you any
 
a strange way to speed up your table...

when you sent up your NEW cloth..make your bed cloth staples about 3-4" apart...
after a few months (during this time your table will be fast)
pull down the cloth between the previous staples and staple at those points ...
you'd be very surprised at how fast the table will get...

I heard this way from some old timer back in the 60's...he used to do it in his pool room....
I used it in a couple of rooms I ran and had no complaints about slow tables.
 
The old timers used to swear use only
a brush to clean your table, not a
dustbuster. Have heard both sides
of that argument.
 
I've heard this before..... spray PLEDGE on the cloth. I've never tried it personally but it might be worth a try? Has anyone else ever heard of this??
 
I sprayed Silicone spray on my Simonis when it was well worn as an experiment before changing cloth and it sped up a little but man, I could draw the rock 3 rails, no sweat. It was fun!!
 
Pledge works...
but the balls must be cleaned often....
and it gets on your hands!!!!
