Is there any tips tricks etc. to smooth a leather wrap that has been scuffed up? I thought that some of the custom case makers may have few good tips also.

scuffed leather wraps

get yourself some Kiwi shoe polish and spit shine the wrap

I agree with Jim. The two Kiwi items you need are some matching color leather dye and the neutral shoe polish. Treat your wrap just like a pair of quality leather shoes. If your wrap had a real high gloss then shoe polish won't get back that real high gloss. Saddle Lac will do that trick after the leather dye. But it will give a very high gloss and not just a good sheen like shoe polish does. So try the neutral shoe polish first to make sure of the desired finish.

Thanks Chris and Jim. How would it affect the wrap if you sanded it some to remove some of the leather strands and then applied the Kiwi techniques? It reminds me like someone taking a key to the paint on a car.

That would depend on the type of wrap it is. You might want to show us a picture. Leather is a funny thing. Some pieces will continue to fuzz up no matter what you do to them and others would smooth right out as you worked your way down to real fine grit. Do you have a local cue repairman that could look at it? If so he would be a good one to get a opinion from.

If it's a full grain leather and you sand through the epidermis or top layer--it will be time for a new wrap! JMO ICBW
