Has anybody bought a table from someone else over a thousand miles away in another state?
What is the best payment method, PayPal, COD or other?
Also what is the best shipping company out there to use? I'm thinking of geting a table from someone but the shipping quotes vary greatly online. Don't know who to use.
Thanks Again

Not sure who to use

but I would hire a table mechanic to inspect the table before any money was sent. So many people have moved tables with help from friends and instead of taking them apart they just lift it all at once. That will cause structural damage on most models of a non-commercial table. When you hire a mechanic ask them to package the table for shipment then have it insured. I purchased a table in another state, packaged it myself and returned home without incident a 600 mile trip. Is this your first table? I would not trade mine for anything. Good luck! Well maybe a Diamond Smart Table

Thanks for the insight. I think you are right about getting a mechanic to break it down and package it up then send it off.
I'm looking at something from NY to San Francisco area. I know it might be expensive but I might give it a try.
What shipping company did you use and were they good to you?

I bought my table from a distributor in Boston, and they hipped it to me down in Florida. I paid by paypal, and they shipped it FOB ABF Motor freight with a lift gate. No issues, dropped it in my driveway, the packing was real well done, and nothing broken. 8 hours later I was playing :)

I had thought about about getting one from about 900 miles away. It wasn't cost efficient and I was leary about the condition. You might find something that's nicer for the same money your going to spend for transporting.

Well....my story wont help much....but it worked for me....

I scored a Brunswick Regina off of fleabay for a steal. Drove from St. Louis to Minnesota and had a pro disassemble(and carry the parts, including the three piece INCH AND A HALF slate up a flight of stairs) and load everything into my 1-ton pickup truck.

Spent a weekend at a offseason(midwinter) resort on a frozen lake, and drove back home, a couple days later.

Had a few friends help off load the table when we got back, and had a local pro setup.

I probably could of had it shipped freight, but it would of had to be crated and all that fun stuff. I made a mini vacation outta it, and besides driving a 2wd dually in an ice storm(plenty of weight on the way back though...lol)...it was a pretty good time.

I paid paypal immediately, before the guy had a chance to back out...yeah, that good of a deal, I was the only bidder.

If you go freight, see if you can have it shipped to a hub or business address and loaded into a truck, residential delivery is a killer.

That's a littttttttttttttttttle bit more than 1,000 miles, try about 3,000;) The make and model of the table would be helpful, it does concern whom ever is going to think about a move like that;)

You're going to spend a couple grand in shipping coast to coast. I bought a 9' Diamond off here and the guy delivered it to me from Illinois to Maryland. I gave him a grand to bring it to me. I called Diamond and they use UPS Freight but like they said you have someone who doesn't care what is in it banging it around with a lift. Good luck!
