anybody know anything about this ugly brunswick 9'

this 9' brunswick is for sale cheap. he says it's a "GA" model. it looks like it's the gold crown's ugly sister. regardless, it might suffice until i find what i want. if it has good slate, it's worth $200.00. when i needed slate for my GC1 i would have rushed to buy it. i'm assuming that it has a similar frame to a GC but i do not know. can 't find any info on a "brunswick GA". anybody know anything about these tables before i drive all the way out there?

It looks like my 1965 Brunswick vip. The exact legs.

Cheaper home version. Plays fine.

on edit: ok, it's definitely a VIP; Very Important Pooltable i may go look at it but now i'm having second thoughts about living in florida. lots of high taxes, BIG-GOV and no jobs. at least in texAss i could eek a living...

It's definitely a VIP. I had one when I was a kid. It was a home table and did come with a slate bed though I'm not sure if it only came in slate or slate was an available upgrade. The price back in the 60's was $900 retail (It think) for the 9 footer. For $200 it's worth it I think. It's not a GC but it played pretty good. I was real happy with it. Obviously you need to get it for a good price to make it a deal compared to a used GC. The leveling system was a little crude. As I remember it consisted of putting thin wood blocks under each of the table legs. Mine played true though. IIRC it was their entry level slate bed table i.e. the cheapest Brunswick available with a slate bed at the time. The ball storage tray is plastic etc.

thanks for the info. i really need a 8+ not a 9' in my new home but this table for cheap would suffice especially since i may not stay here in florida. i'm really pissed about the BIG-GOV and high taxes. it'll cost me $220 just to get my truck plates.
