Anybody Tried A Predator 314-2 FAT Shaft?

Aloha all,

I'm interested in hearing some feedback from anyone who has tried a Predator 314-2 FAT shaft. How do they play compared to the regular 314-2? Does the hit feel more like a normal shaft than the regular Predator 314-2 does?

How far can they be tapered down from the 13.2mm diameter before it becomes risky, due to the hollow end on the shaft?

I have read the standard hype that is on every website selling Predator cues and shafts, but I'd like to hear from somebody who has actually tried one.

Thanks in advance for any information you may provide.

I've tried one out. It does have a bit more feel than a normal 314, but still not really a feeling I could get used to.

If you turned it down, wouldn't it just be the same as a normal 314?

I wasn't planning on turning it down to less than 13mm. I think the regular one is 12.75mm. I was thinking more along the line if you thinned it down to 13mm and extended the taper a bit further back.

My friend, Merkyone (AZ handle), plays with one and he swears it's the best shaft he's ever played with.

I got a predator fat shaft on a Lucasi cue and love it. Feels like I gained consistency, but at the cost of not being able to put quite as much spin as I'm used to with a normal 314. All in all it's taken my game up a level since I made the switch a year ago.

When I played with predators, I preferred the fat shaft. I felt that the thicker taper offered more feel and I felt more in control of my cue all movement.
