those new ones are pretty slick. anyone had a chance to try them out yet?

where's the balance point? how longs the taper? how thick is the butt? how much do the rings pop in person?

I would also like to know. I play with OB1 shafts, both uniloc and 3/8x10, and I am very happy with that.

i play with ob-1 ,, BUT ----

I had to have my cue maker turn the shafts down to a professional length taper. I need it to be 12 to 15 inches before the shaft starts to expand. Most pro level players prefer this i think.

However, the ob cue people are too stubborn to even consider that they might not be right about their tapers !!!!

what are you talking about? what's a professional length taper? thank god you're around to tell us what most pros prefer to play with.

the people at OB aren't stubborn. from what i've heard they'll do just about what ever you want. nothing wrong with having someone else turn your shafts down. their shaft taper is long enough as it is.

My first post!

I have received my OB-123 cue with the Classic Pro on it a few days ago and yesterday I got to shoot with it for the first time! Wow!

I live in the Netherlands and I am pretty much the only here with an OB cue, people don't even know about OB around here. Thanks to you guys here on AzBilliards I could make my choice. I am very happy with your advice indeed, as it turns out it plays very nice.

However, I am just a novice player. I have played in a regional league here for 1 season now and have played for about 2-3 months before that. I am about to begin a new season and am very excited to see how my new cue helps me improve my game.

So if you guys need anything a novice player can help you with, I'm more than happy to. If you need some measurements, I can take my caliper and measure up some points, just tell me where exactly.

I want to post some pictures, but I guess I'll have to wait a couple of posts before I'm allowed (forum policy I guess).

if you use photobucket you can post pictures. you just cut and paste. just move the mouse over the picture you uploaded and click the mouse on the very bottom option the "image code". that'll copy the pic then just paste it here. the account's easy to get and free.

i hope this helps because i really can't wait to see the cue.

where's the balance point w shaft attached? what's it measure at the joint and at the top and bottom of the wrap?

Hmm if I try to do that I get this:

An error has occurred thianlim! You must have 5 posts in order to post links. Your current post count is 1.

I guess I need some more posts

And here are some pics!

BTW, I have the OB-123 and ordered it from Seyberts. But I asked specifically for it to be totally black. If I'm correct, the standard OB-123 is black stained so you can see the wood through the stain.

I was happily surprised the bumper had a nice OB logo in it. I thought because nobody posted pics of the bumper it would be just a plain bumper.

My old shaft looks so bad.

I'll take some measurements later on when I have more time...

man that's a great looking cue!!!! they did a really good job on the finish. or it looks like they did anyway. Congrats you're a lucky guy!!!

The balance point is around 25 cm or 9.8 in down from the joint.

Diameters:

at joint: 21.6 mm / 0.8897638 in

at top of wrap: 25.55 mm / 1.0059055 in

at bottom of wrap: 30 mm / 1.1811 in

@poolplayer2093

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it would come out totally glossy black like I prefer it, but it did! My first choice was the Predator six point sneaky pete with orange veneer, wrap and Z2 shaft, but OB gets so much love here on AZ and Royce of OB is great (from what I read here), so I'm glad I made the right decision.

It's just a very nice plain cue and the price is just great! The silver stitches add just a touch of decoration and style, not too much and not too plain.

is it correct to assume the balance point is 18.2 inches from the bumper???
does anyone know is that the correct spot to measure or is it from the end of the butt
not including the bumper??

Wow man thanks for the pictures that's exactly what I wanted, as I'm thinking about getting an OB cue for myself (as a replacement for my mezz) but I'm thinking about getting a sneaky - I'd kill for a cocobolo OB sneaky pictures, anyone ?.

Is the bumper screwed in ?

Could you measure the balance point from the bumper ? What is the weight you use ?

Mine is 19 oz and I think the bumper can come off. OB has a weight adjustment kit, which I think goes into the bottom of the butt. Not sure though, it works like this on my break cue.

Ob sneaky

I'm ordering a coco hustler with a ob classic shaft next week so when I get it I will post review & pics!!!:)
