Anyone have green pearlescent rings or a short piece of rod - or anything similar?

As the title says, I'm looking for some green pearlescent rings or a short piece of 1-3/8" rod - 4-6". I'm looking for 4 joint rings (one shaft and JP's), and 2 or 3 butt rings - preferably .10 thickness or somewhere close.

None of the major suppliers have any, some have joint size but I can't find any @ 1.38". I've found a few Juma Gem's that are close but it just doesn't cut it and at $90+ a rod, and since this is a one off, I would much rather have pearlescent or similar.

Pic for reference, the one on the left. If you have something close post a pic. Essentially, I'm looking for a green that either pops or is somewhat translucent.

I'm open to all options. This dyed spalted tamarind from Woodcraft would work also, but like everything else green - they are out of stock.

you can always call them to place your order..... They HAVE to tell you the shipping charge at that point. I have ordered from them over the years and never felt shipping was an issue.....unlike some "cue material" specialists/suppliers that basically push it up our butts when it comes to shipping charges.

What about using Malachite??

I only mention it bcuz I have a cue w Malachite rings.
That spalted Tamarind was beautiful. Had no idea you could buy it like that. Worth the price of admission right there. Lol.

I bet those malachite rings look good. Always been a fan, I'm sure if I ever saw it in rod form I would've owned some by now, lol.

And yeah, that Tamarind is definitely beautiful.
 
Chili. How hard is it to dye the wood yourself? I honestly have no clue how they did it. my first thought is that it wouldnt soak all the way into the wood. I have a piece of spalted tamarind and a piece of palm. They do seem like porous wood.
My spelling stinks.
Is is some sort of pressurized chamber?
Anyways, my train of thought was that if you can do it your self, you could control both variable. the wood and the color.
Well i am sure it opens up other issues of drying the wood and warping.
Not a cue maker- you know this. just spitballing.

It’s not stained. The wood is impregnated with resin to stabilize it. It is very hard. Beautiful color and chatoyancy.

This is green Raffir poplar burl wood.

I'm not sure if it's stained or impregnated (as mentioned by SSDriver2112) but I don't think that's an issue. Firstly, I have a vacuum pump and I remember seeing an Richard Chuddy green stained maple cue in the for sale section here a few years ago that was absolutely gorgeous (I couldn't find it in a quick search). If you size the material first and then stain it there shouldn't be an issue. Then there's double and triple staining (I believe that RC3 cue was double stained - dark stain first that was sanded off, then green stain over it - made some of the grain pop) I did consider it briefly when I saw that spalted tamarind but then remembered - that yes, I have a vacuum pump but I would need to build the chamber and I'm trying to actually finish projects (not go down new paths) so I can sell stuff so I can move and decided against it, that's when I posted this thread :)

Overall, staining wood is pretty easy, I just don't have the time or inclination (or the gumption) to go down that road right now but don't let that deter you. Go buy some cheap wood and stain and go to town, it's the best way to learn.

I make my malachite rings from knife handle slabs. I rough it out on a wet saw (tile saw) then bore a hole on the lathe. I put a purple heart dowel behind it when boring and use a center drill to get things started.
