aka Russ (fatboy) espiritu

I have had my eye on an ivory jointed espiritu. I think you would do better spending a little more . At the trade shows he gives good deals. A thousand dollars buys a lot of espiritu on the last day. Radial pin ,Ivory joint, vennered pts. Hits as good as my gilbert, but you've never heard of him -I suppose thats ok mark

I have known Russ for over 15 years and he is not only a top notch cuemaker but is a great person as well. And he is the MAYOR of his town.

I spent several days with Russ and Carolyn at their house one year and he is meticulous about his work. His wood stock is amazing.

Every Espiritu I have owned has been a great cue. All of them have sold quickly when they were offered for sale.

How strong is an Espiritu? In the mid 90's I ended up in California with many of them that were destined for Germany. I had one that was retail $800 but was a truly stunning cue. A fellow asked me to give him a price and I did not want to sell it. I told him $1200 and he didn't blink. The next day he calls me and asks if I will take a Phillipi and $500 in trade. The Phillipi had large ivory ovals and engraved spider webs in the inlays. I took the deal. The Phillipi brought something like 1600 on Ebay in 2003.

Russ's cues are the real deal from the plain janes to the high end and he builds some super high end ones as well.
