Anyone here from Spain?

Spain has lot of unique foods, olive oils, olives, and thing to do beside play Pool.

Honestly think the one thing I would work on before you leave is your Spanish.

Friend spent year there, and said had he not know Spanish. There were place he went were if you wand directions. No one would help if you only spoke English.

ha! If he thinks the Spaniards are bad about all that, the French give them the 6 and the breaks when it comes to that, particularly in Paris.

Actually, my experience is just the opposite. As long as you make at least an absolute minimal effort, Spaniards will go out of their way to be helpful!

Problem for me was Spanish in Spain (barcelona) sounded like English spoken in Ireland to me
The accent made it difficult to understand and I can more than just get by in Spanish
Also since I’m an American speaking Caribbean Spanish my accent was difficult for them to understand me

I've been to Mallorca. It's simply beautiful. I especially liked Lluc, Espanya, (and the drive there and back).

I’m taking my wife, well actually she’s taking me is more accurate, over to Spain in a few weeks. One week of the trip is already booked out and we have a few days with family in Palma, but we will have several days in Madrid to check out the culture. I’m sure we will hit plenty of the typical tourists spots but it got me thinking- are there any old famous snooker or billiard rooms? Yelp shows a few different ones available, but I’m hoping there’s someone on the site here that might have some local knowledge. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Hi.

I'm from Spain and I've lived a couple of years in Madrid. I only know a pool room on Madrid. It is called Tilt. (https://www.facebook.com/TiltBillarClub)

I think they had 2 bar tables, 2 carom tables and 6 or 7 9 foot tables.

If you have any extra day I would recommend you to know Galicia (it's a region on the north-west from the Country) but it's only 1 flight our our 2 or 3 train hours. There are several pool rooms and some of the best food of the country (you should try the seafood).

Be confident to ask anything you need to know

My best chance to get a few hours to myself is in Madrid. My brother lives in Palma so we will be spending most of our time there but I doubt I can get a kitchen pass to sneak away for too long.

Is there anything in Madrid you'd recommend? Thanks for the reply. This is our first time over there but all of our kids have gone over and spent the summer at least once. They all loved Ibiza.
I know some pool halls in Palma de Mallorca, not a big expert on pool halls in Madrid. But I found this article "the best pool halls in Madrid": https://elviajero.elpais.com/elviajero/2018/04/19/actualidad/1524128264_017067.html

I also have many pool player friends in Spain, including some pro players so if that list isn't what you're looking for then I can ask around.

I'm glad you liked Ibiza it's a fantastic place for tourists.
