Anyone here in the 626 Area?

havent played at jakes (doesnt seem like there's a lot of tables there) but do play at cueball when im in the home area. A bit pricey for some so-so tables on weekends/evenings, though.

Is Cueball the one on Main St. in San Gabriel??

yeah thats the one, seems overpriced to me. and always crowded with highschoolers

where would you guys reccomend to play in the 626 area with resonably priced fees and allows 21 and under.

I heard about 4th Dimention in Monrovia.. I haven't been there my self, but it is a place to play..

if you ever go.. tell us how it is..

agreed. As of jakes, you get what you pay for.. I go during happy hour.. so it's a lot less expensive.

Have you been there during happy hour? the rates are awesome!

Jakes has like 17 - 19 tables.. that's quite a few I would think.. they have a pool hall underground. that's how they fit all the tables.

626? Golden Cue in El Monte

For the 626, I play at Golden Cue. Prices are reasonable. Tables in the action room are great. Hours are flexible. Wide range of players from the just-learning to the well-seasoned. Occassionally, there's some big action to watch. There's also bar boxes, snooker tables, billiard tables and leagues several nights a week.

That'd be my alma-mater. Located in Alhambra at Granada & Main St. Nice room with good equipment (Ernesto D. takes care of them), old school Diamonds with the Pro Billiards Tour logo on em & gold crowns throughout, good food and so-so service. It's worth going to. No action whatsoever at this spot. It's been dead for at least 10-15 years. Just recreational players.

Another good spot is The Golden Cue in South El Monte, that was another home away from home for me. Sketchy neighborhood to be sure, but good equipment, Gold Crowns throughout, a 6 table tournament room with bleacher seating and a knowledgeable poolplayer friendly staff/owner. There is small action to be had as well. It used to be 24 hours also.

As far as Jake's (Pasadena) and 4th Dimension (Monrovia) go, they both have dog-shit playing conditions. Absolutely poor lighting and completely un-maintained equipment. Sports-bar meat market types of spots. Jake's made an effort in the past to get the more serious players, but as they are corporate, owned by Jillian's corp, the effort did not last very long. 4th Dimension, just sux. If you don't believe me, lag a ball down the center of the table and watch the fun begin.
