Anyone Know "Wendell Cues"?

Hi All,

Just seeing if anyone is familiar w/Wendell Cues, not really getting anywhere researching this one. 3/8-10 pin; bumper screws into wood using a square head wood screw; interesting rings. Seems pretty solidly made. Any help would be appreciated, here are some bad pics as I only had my old phone with me:

Gosh it *almost* rings a bell about someone in Colorado but I just can't quite pull it up. I'll keep chewing on it.
 
I learned something about this cue from a member of AZB Forums (jayman) who also had a cue of his in 2011, I thought I'd share since it is a pretty cool story:

"a guy named Wendell (now deceased) who was a woodworker in the Durango Co. area made a few pool cues and gave them to his friends. He did not make very many but nobody was sure how many. They guessed maybe a dozen or so.

~~~~ My thought: I wonder if he learned from Judd who lived and worked near there?

Thanks to all those trying to help me learn about this cue. From the brief time I saw this cue, it seemed like it was well made.

Thank you so much for posting your findings. I searched a lot for info on this and found nothing except the previous posts by Jayman.


It would seem it is a rare cue. The quality looks very good, so I think it is a little bit of a treasure.

This and their proximity to each other is the reason I had a suspicion, but I doubt it would ever bee substantiated unless Trudy (Judd's widow) knew something.

I guess I can call if no one else is doing so.

Well, I couldn't wait so I called Trudy, Judd's widow. She said Wendell lived in Mancos, CO and although Judd did not show him how to make cues, Wendell spent a lot of time in Judd's shop and asked a lot of questions. Wendell died before Judd according to Trudy.

There you have it! :)

My brother & sister-in-law lived in Mancos.
He was the DA for Dolores county
Real nice part of Colorado

Sorry, Trudy did not know his last name, if she thinks of it she'll call.

I recently sold a "Josh Fuller" cue
We called it the Son of Judd cue

Nice cue, too bad he quit building cues
