I had a customer yesterday with a Schon and both shafts were marked #2. It was done in script just like the Schon logo on the shaft...on opposite side of the logo. Anyone seen this before. I didn't realize Schon sold #2 shafts? They were straight and had zero cosmetic issues....so I wonder why they were #2?
You didn't comment on runout of the grain. I have seen one or two in the past with very slight problems. I will admit they were small and for many lower level players not an issue. Dimension error (in the taper) might be the flaw also. Schon has fairly tight quality control but with higher sales it may be necessary to lower losses to achieve more profit by selling higher numbers of shafts. At least they are marking them and not trying to pass off a poorer product as a #1. Just my thoughts on the matter. If you find out anything else I would be interested to hear.
