Anyone seen the NEW Version of Arizona Billiards News? With the Strip Joint Ads

Do you think Strip Joints Advertising in Pool Publication is good for Pools IMAGE?

Ya know what? On my Vista machines, I use ad blocking software (which is built into Norton Internet Security 2007; it was taken out in the 2008 & 2009 versions, which is one of the many reaons I refuse to upgrade to them), and I literally haven't seen web advertisements in years.

When I ran the paper, I had a rule that all advertising had to be billiards related in one way or another. I did run an ad for a pool service and a flooring company, but they were both ran by pool players and the offered a discount for pool players. Not sure what I would have done if I had been approached by a strip club owned by a pool player.

I realize that I sometimes have a real naive viewpoint of things like this, but I really wanted the paper to be supported by the pool world.

Yes Mike you even had Business Card Advertisements, like Real Estate Agents-Business Card Ad--Bob Hayden who also was a Pool Player.

As the BANNER above that section said. "Pool Player's Taking Care of Pool Players!"

Yes I know someone who use Hayden to buy a house recently because of that very Business Card AD.

I've seen Mike's paper before he sold it. Billiard, professional, informative & clean; just like his "site" is now. He is modest and sarcastic... I love it.:D He and his "staff" have worked tirelessly and done a wonderful job.

I have seen the paper after the new owner has it, the least I can say is... I am disappointed.

"Paper" whether it be flier or news is Prehistoric. Everything moves faster on the "net", I know if I want info, I Google first. One of the few reasons Mike gave it up. Made a little but was a lot of effort for the return. Sometimes you have to ask yourself how much is your time worth. His family is important to him.

I agree with you. That is why I thought it was so important to take over azpoolscene.com from Ron Merseal when Alexander's closed down. The website is updated daily with al the events from Arizona. The last few issues of the Billiards Info paper were 70-80% content off of azpoolscene and 3 or 4 weeks behind. And now I'm not allowing him to use any content from my site and he has changed to add poker, darts, strip clubs, etc.
